LEONARD AUGUSTIN KAVANAGH After a brief illness, Leonard Kavanagh, aged 97, passed away on October 30, 2003 at the Grace Hospital. He married Ethel M. Jeffries on October 4, 1952. Leonard was employed by Northern Paints, and its predecessor companies as a Purchasing Manager until his retirement. He and Ethel enjoyed their retirement, in particular vacationing in their travel trailer, visiting friends and relatives from coast to coast, as well as many trips south of the border. Len and Ethel were avid golfers and long standing members of Assiniboine Golf and Country Club. They also enjoyed the sport of curling. Len was predeceased by his loving wife Ethel in August 1990 and three brothers, Art, Gerry and Maurice. He is survived by his brother Frank (Jane-Barbara) of Chilliwack, BC and several nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the We Care staff and caretakers who not only kept him comfortable, but were also good companions to him during the last few years. We would also like to thank Home Care and all the special nurses at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during his brief stay there. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave. Len will be laid to rest next to his wife in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
